قال سيادة المطران عطا الله حنا رئيس أساقفة سبسطية للروم الأرثوذكس من القدس المحتلة:
بأننا نجدد مناشدتنا ونداءنا الذي نطلقه من رحاب مدينتنا المقدسة.
ونتمنى أن يصل إلى كل الكنائس والمرجعيات الروحية المسيحية في العالم
بضرورة أن ترفع الصلاة والدعاء من أجل وقف الحرب ووقف هذا النزيف الذي نعاني منه في غزة منذ أكثر من عام وخلال الآونة الأخيرة في لبنان أيضاً.
وتمنى سيادته من الجميع قائلا”:
نتمنى من الكنائس المسيحية كلها في العالم أن تصلي من أجل فلسطين التي تنزف دما وكذلك من أجل لبنان وما نتمناه أيضاً هو أن يرتفع الصوت المسيحي في هذا العالم من أجل وقف هذه الكارثة المروعة التي نعيشها في هذا المشرق وأعني بذلك في فلسطين وفي لبنان ناهيك عن الاعتداءات المتكررة التي تتعرض لها سوريا .
انطلاقاً من القيم المسيحية والمبادىء الإنجيلية السامية نعتقد بأن الكنائس كلها يجب أن تقوم بدورها الروحي والإنساني في المطالبة بوقف العدوان الذي يتعرض له أهلنا في غزة وكذلك في لبنان .
صلوا من أجلنا فنحن بحاجة إلى دعاءكم وإلى صلواتكم والتي يجب أن تكون مقرونة بالموقف السليم والجريء والواضح دونما تلعثم أو تردد وهو المطالبة بوقف هذه الحرب والتي تبعاتها كارثية ومأساوية ومن يدفعون الثمن إنما هم المدنيون وخاصة شريحة الأطفال الذين يحرمون من ممارسة طفولتهم ولا يصلهم الماء والغذاء وهم يجوعون ويعطشون ويعانون كما يعاني الكبار أيضاً.
وأوضح سيادته:
بعد مرور عام على هذه الحرب بات من الضروري التخلي عن اللغة الدبلوماسية المنمقة واتخاذ مواقف واضحة وجريئة مطالبة بوقف هذا العدوان الغاشم والغير مسبوق والذي يتعرض له شعبنا وكذلك المناداة بتحقيق العدالة في أرض غيبت عنها العدالة بسبب الاحتلال وممارساته الظالمة .
وتساءل سيادته:
لماذا يُحرم الفلسطينيون من حقهم المشروع في أن يعيشوا أحراراً في بلدهم وما أكثر الحروب التي تعرض لها شعبنا ولكن الحرب الدائرة حالياً في غزة هي الأكثر قسوة وهمجية وهي تندرج في إطار التآمر على شعبنا وقضيته العادلة .
لسنا سياسيين ولن نكون سياسيين ولكننا دعاة حرية وكرامة وعدل لكل إنسان مظلوم ومعذب لا سيما شعبنا الفلسطيني .
نتمنى أن تصل رسالتنا إلى كل الكنائس ففلسطين هي مهد المسيحية وعندما تدافعون عن فلسطين وشعبها المظلوم أنتم تدافعون عن المسيحية في مهدها وتدافعون عن أعرق وأقدم حضور مسيحي في هذا العالم.

“Move to stop this war and achieve justice in a land where justice has been absent.”

His Archbishop Theodosius “Atallah Hanna” (Archbishop of Sebastia) Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alquds said :
We renew our appeal and call that we are launching from the spaciousness of our holy city.
We hope that it will reach all the churches and Christian spiritual authorities in the world
The necessity of raising prayers and supplications to stop the war and stop this bleeding that we have been suffering from in Gaza for more than a year and recently in Lebanon as well.
▪His Excellency Bishop Atallah Hanna stressed:
We hope that all Christian churches in the world will pray for Palestine, which is bleeding, as well as for Lebanon. What we also hope for is that the Christian voice in this world will rise in order to stop this horrific catastrophe that we are experiencing in this Levant, and I mean by that in Palestine and Lebanon, not to mention the repeated attacks that Syria is exposed to.
Based on Christian values and lofty evangelical principles, we believe that all churches must play their spiritual and humanitarian role in demanding an end to the aggression that our people in Gaza are exposed to, as well as in Lebanon.
Pray for us, as we need your prayers and your supplications, which must be coupled with the correct, bold and clear position without hesitation or hesitation, which is to demand an end to this war, the consequences of which are catastrophic and tragic, and those who pay the price are civilians, especially children who are deprived of practicing their childhood and do not have access to water and food. They are hungry, thirsty and suffering, as adults also suffer.

After a year of this war, it has become necessary to abandon the diplomatic language The ornate and take clear and bold positions demanding an end to this brutal and unprecedented aggression that our people are being subjected to, as well as calling for justice in a land where justice has been absent due to the occupation and its unjust practices.

Why are the Palestinians deprived of their legitimate right to live freely in their country? What are the many wars that our people have been subjected to, but the current war in Gaza is the most brutal and barbaric and falls within the framework of the conspiracy against our people and their just cause.
We are not politicians and we will not be politicians, but we are advocates of freedom, dignity and justice for every oppressed and tortured person, especially our Palestinian people.
We hope that our message reaches all churches, as Palestine is the cradle of Christianity, and when you defend Palestine and its oppressed people, you are defending Christianity in its cradle and defending the oldest and most ancient Christian presence in this world.
